For GLAM Labs to work, they need datasets to use. In October 2022, the GLAM Labs community organised a webinar on implementing collections as data during which we presented a checklist that can be used for both creating and evaluating digital collections suitable for computational use. The checklist was built through a combination of literature review and feedback from the community. An article providing context for this work and detailed information about each step in the checklist is now available at the journal Global Knowledge, Memory and Communication.
Spanish translation of the GLAM Labs Checklist (original via Zenodo). Translated by Javier Pereda, the list is designed to assist GLAM institutions in publishing open, reusable data, this version maintains the original’s conceptual integrity for academic and preservation purposes.
Building on the work of the International GLAM Labs Community, this workflow, available through the SSH Open Marketplace offers a flexible checklist for publishing "Collections as Data." It was created in the context of the common European data space for cultural heritage. It empowers institutions to prioritize steps based on their specific context and ensuring data is not just open, but truly reusable and ethically sound.
